Blogging buzz....

Oh, how I love the world of blogging! In a single second messages and posts can travel all over the world. Sometimes I try to picture my 82 year old cyber friend Wyn from Down Under, as she sits behind her desk and writes her poems or reads my posts. Her Ponderings traveling throughout Australia and beyond, ending up in my living room. How awesome is that!

I just came back from a long weekend conference in North Eastern Germany, where my husband and I gave some workshops on the will of God, the plan of God, the voice of God and the power of God in your life. I left some notes and photo's from that trip on our weblog Traveling Light.

I just received a special thank you hug from blogger friend Lorrie Ransom at her blog Grow up Deep, for the interview I had with her. The funny thing about that interview is that it was picked up by her friend Vee who re-posted it on her blog Living Journey and was so kind to post a link to my weblog too. You have to check out her blog, Vee writes about Christianity, Religion, Politics, apologetics... you name it, it's there.

Blogging makes the world go round. Keep on blogging friends!

  4. Because of FaceBook, I have connected to some people I graduated from high school with. One of the girls has created a page for our graduating class. This is neat. I have met so many new friends by blogging. Enjoy your day, it's in the low 90's here in the midwest USA.

I love how close you feel when I reaad your blogs or you write a comment on mine.
I still think you are further away when you are back in Holland but that is just my weird perception.
Blessings to you for the support and friendship you have given to me over the years, from the first Shoutlife days,
    love, Wyn.

  10. Hi Marja... What a surprise to find that you had mentioned me in this post. Lorrie shared this post on my FB wall just before she went to bed.

I have had a busy day and now I sit in my lounge room in Australia with the heater on because it has been very cold here reading your blog!

Blogging has changed my life. I have always been a stay at home mum and now a stay at home Grandma of a lovely two year old little boy called Oliver.

I guess the one thing I can say about blogging is that it gave me a voice that can reach the whole world even though I have been a stay at home wife, mother and Grandmother. In that is a whole lot of freedom.

The other thing I love about blogging is meeting other's like Lorrie and yourself through this media format. And I absolutely love the ability to research and share what I learn with others.

Blogging has also allowed others to contact me and ask for help in areas that I never thought possible. I have helped an author with his book and have had my name published in it as a researcher. I even got to meet him when I had a holiday in England a couple of years ago. Another person who contacted me recently was a film producer who wanted me to blog about a dvd and get people interested in this very unique movie, it's called "The Daniel Project". It's brilliant, just google it and I bet you and your readers would be very interested in it.

I have had some people NOT so happy with my blog. One such person is a professor who teaches here in Australia. He is a holocaust denier and has even met with the president of Iran! He hates that I stand up for the Jewish people and for Israel. I have had a very well known Reverend in the UK threaten me with the police because of his ties with anti-Semitism and how I had posted about it. This even made the UK guardian papers and my blog was mentioned and it pretty much went viral. That is a LONG story, but he ended up looking like a fool to all those who believe in freedom of speech and accountability for what and who you associate with.

I always wonder what will happen next in the blogging world. It's quite exciting most times, but can be challenging too. I just pray, that if I can reach just ONE person and that that person has a seed planted and for someone to water it and for them to be saved, that would mean so much to me. That is why I do what I do. I want people to hear another side of the story, I want to challenge people to think about eternal matters.

Thanks again Marja for writing this. It makes it ALL worth it :)

  11. Hi Marja -

When I started my blog, I never imagined the impact it would have on my life. I've met several of my blogging friends in person and will meet another this summer.

While I appreciate the encouragement and knowledge, the relationships remain the highlight of the experience.

    Blessings,
    Susan :)
