Blogging routine baloney

Well, after the blogoversary celebrations, the WIP special Bloggers@work and the latest news about my new book Spirit of Truth, I am trying to get back to my weekly writing routine... yeah, I said trying.

There is no such thing as a writing or blogging routine in my life. Last week I was traveling in the beautiful country of Macedonia which has a history going back to Biblical times. I attended a conference of Roma gypsies; believers who have a heart to change the fate and future of their people. I could write a book about the struggles and victories they experience.

In the meantime my husband was traveling in Slovenia. He attended a men's conference where more than 400 men from different Balkan countries (former Yugoslavia) came together to seek God's face, to forgive and be forgiven and in doing so to be healed of their brokenness. I know this will not appear on the daily news, but believe me... this is a major happening in the spiritual world and it would take more than one book to write down the stories!

When at home with nothing to do :-) (just kidding) I am working on a Bible study book in the Dutch language while ideas for the next book in the Ten Commandments series are running through my mind. Besides that, an Italian version of one of my dearest and most precious books, Breath of Life, will be coming out next month... and yeah, we will be traveling to Italy.

So, a writing or blogging routine... nah, can't seem to get it together. How about you?

  1. I blog small things. That's my answer to it! Haha...in fact, not exactly sure I qualify as a blogger since I mostly do quotes and Bible verses. But every once in a while I jot something down. God's Word is better anyway.

I am very encouraged to hear about the Roma! I was reading about them not too long ago. Hallelujah. And the Balkans...wooo...forgiveness. That's a breath of fresh air like I have never even thought of before. Amen...

  2. I don't have a specific routine either, such as "on Mondays I write blog posts". In general, I write, do paperwork and other misc. items in the afternoon when I am not running errands, babysitting my grandsons, or other similar things. Often my to-do list gets shifted into the evenings. But we seem to get things done eventually, don't we?

Congratulations on the Italian translation! Enjoy your trip! May the Lord continue to bless and keep you and your husband as you minister. :)

  3. I write posts and schedule them. Still, I missed posting Monday because I procrastinated. On Saturday, I fell and broke my wrist. There goes my routine. Congrats on your book and ministry opportunities.

  4. Yes Marja, I also recognise myself in your 'routine'. I write when I can - and the intervals are sporadic. Sometimes I post regularly other times when the time and thoughts allow.
How wonderful to read about the things that also occupy so much of your time- not to mention work, home and family commitments. A full life - and how well you fill it.

Blessings and God's strength to keep on keeping on!

  6. All that traveling sounds mighty important in the spirit realm, Marja. I'm so happy you and your husband had the opportunity to do these trips.
I don't have a set routine either, but I set deadlines for myself and that keeps me on track. Most days. HA!

  7. Since I was released from a rehab center and then hand in home therapy, I have not quite found my routine for writing. I need to do this. This week had me doing special things every day but Monday. (Special means things that are necessary but take me away from writing, even for part of my day.)
